Vani Dewan (VANI) is an open-format DJ, lifelong musician, and neuroscientist based in California. Currently a doctoral student with the Brain and Creativity Institute at USC, she studies how music training affects developmental and educational outcomes. Blending global sounds, her DJ sets deliver a combination of fusion and frisson that stimulate the brain and body, spanning genres such as afrobeats, baile funk, desi fusion, arabi, bass house, hardgroove and r&b. VANI has supported artists including Jyoty, ZEEMUFFIN, Priya Ragu, Flowdan, Mastané, KSHMR, and DJ Habibeats in cities across the U.S. and Asia. As an emerging force in the global music scene, she’s defining her own sound and activating audiences worldwide with her dynamic sets.
